[01-12-2025] – Loved Ones Remember Highway 50 Motorcycle Crash Victim

Sacramento, CA – Loved ones gathered to remember a motorcyclist killed in a crash on Highway 50 in Sacramento that involved a car and 13 motorcycles, leaving one rider dead and many others injured. The tragic accident unfolded Sunday morning, bringing traffic to a standstill along the busy highway.

The motorcyclists were part of a group known as The Tuscany, a subgroup of The Clampers from Butte County. In the aftermath, Dustin Hawley, the president of The Clampers chapter in Paradise, shared insights on the intense ordeal. โ€œPretty much every one of them about went down on their bike and were seriously injured,” he said, noting that injuries included broken legs, arms, wrists, and ribs.

According to a California Highway Patrol spokesperson, five motorcyclists sustained injuries in the accident, while one, identified as Brian Shaw from Paradise, succumbed to his injuries at a Sacramento hospital. Shaw was a long-time rider and beloved family man, known for his involvement in supporting his local community.

โ€œWeโ€™re all devastated. It’s been 24 hours since we found out, and weโ€™re still trying to regroup and move forward,โ€ Hawley stated during an interview. He remembered Shaw fondly, describing him as like a brother, as they shared a close-knit circle of friends and frequently gathered for meals and celebrations.

As the community grieves Shawโ€™s passing, the Paradise chapter is taking action to provide support for his family. Hawley noted, โ€œPeople are coming together to help out because theyโ€™re going to need some support.โ€ Donations have been pouring in at his shop, with community members dropping off contributions and heartfelt messages.

The California Highway Patrol is actively seeking information related to the crash. They encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or may have recorded footage to come forward, as this information could be critical in determining what exactly led to this tragic multi-vehicle accident.
