Fresno, CA — Fresno police responded to a three-vehicle collision on Sunday afternoon near a demonstration at Blackstone and Nees avenues.
The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. on Blackstone Avenue near El Paso Avenue. According to authorities, two leading vehicles were slowing for southbound traffic when a third vehicle failed to reduce speed, rear-ending one of the cars. The impact caused a chain reaction, pushing the struck vehicle into the lead vehicle.
Two individuals involved in the collision were treated for minor injuries, complaining of pain.
Police clarified that the crash was not connected to the nearby demonstration, where hundreds had gathered to protest Border Patrol’s three-day operation, named “Return to Sender,” conducted in Kern County.
The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
