Torrance, CA – A 33-year-old man from Harbor City tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident involving a car, as reported by police on Wednesday. Authorities were dispatched to the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and 236th Street at approximately 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday when a collision occurred between a 2019 Jaguar and a 1992 Honda motorcycle, according to the Torrance Police Department.
Investigations revealed that the Jaguar was traveling south on Crenshaw Boulevard when it made a left turn onto 236th Street. In doing so, it collided with the Honda motorcycle, which was headed northbound on Crenshaw Boulevard.
Personnel from the Torrance Fire Department arrived on the scene to assess the motorcyclist’s condition. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the location. The identity of the deceased is being withheld by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner until relatives have been notified.
The 78-year-old Torrance resident driving the Jaguar was reported to be uninjured, according to police. Following the accident, the northbound and southbound lanes of Crenshaw Boulevard between 235th and 237th streets were closed for over four hours to facilitate the investigation, police stated.
The investigation into this fatal incident is ongoing as of Wednesday evening.
