Los Angeles County, CA – An investigation is currently underway following a tragic incident where two individuals lost their lives and another two sustained moderate injuries when a Metrolink train collided with a vehicle on the tracks in Industry.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriffโs Department, a Metrolink train, designated Train 407, struck a white Toyota Camry in the City of Industry on Thursday morning. This deadly accident occurred at approximately 8 a.m. near the intersection of Rose Hills Road and Capitol Avenue, leading to the deaths of two people inside the car.
The train was making its journey between the Industry and Montebello/Commerce stations. Additionally, two individuals were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries labeled as moderate, according to data from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. However, the authorities did not disclose the roles of these individuals in the accident, and the identities of all victims have not yet been made public.
From the train’s passenger list, five individuals reported non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Although the incident led to the cancellation of two trains, the agency informed customers that alternative transportation options were provided and that the schedule for the remainder of Thursday would remain unaffected.
As of now, it remains unclear how the vehicle ended up in the path of the approaching train. Authorities have confirmed that they are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this accident.
