[01-16-2025] – Multi-Vehicle Collision on State Route 51 in Sacramento Causes Traffic Delays

Sacramento, CA — A multi-vehicle collision involving five vehicles and a motorcycle disrupted traffic on the northbound lanes of State Route 51 near the Arden Way on-ramp on January 16, 2025.

The crash occurred around 4:46 p.m. when a Chevrolet SUV towing a trailer lost control, resulting in a motorcycle rider being thrown across the roadway. Among the vehicles involved were a dark gray SUV and a white Tesla sedan, all of which ended up on the right side of the roadway.

Emergency services responded quickly to the scene. While the exact extent of injuries remains unclear, initial reports suggest potential injuries, including a suspected broken arm. Lane closures were implemented to facilitate emergency operations and vehicle removal, causing significant traffic delays.

By 5:13 p.m., the incident was classified as a minor injury collision, with responders continuing to assess and clear the scene. Motorists in the area are advised to drive cautiously and anticipate potential delays as cleanup efforts progress.
