Florin, CA – A serious traffic accident resulting in major injuries occurred early Wednesday morning on SR-99 N, just south of Stockton Blvd. This incident triggered a substantial emergency response.
The collision happened around 3:49 a.m. involving a black Ford Mustang that crashed into a cement barrier in the collector-distributor lanes. Emergency responders reached the site by 3:57 a.m., with fire crews and medics promptly assisting the injured.
Reports reveal that at least one victim, identified as Jane Doe, was taken to the hospital, suffering from a collapsed lung and internal bleeding. Due to the extent of the injuries, officials classified this incident as a major injury collision.
In the aftermath of the crash, authorities initially closed several lanes to address the situation. However, by 4:04 a.m., three to four lanes had reopened, while cleanup operations were still underway. Debris from the accident remained in the collector-distributor lanes, necessitating further involvement from the Department of Transportation.
By 4:38 a.m., all lanes were reported open, and the SigAlert was subsequently lifted. Nonetheless, officials have decided to keep the case active for follow-up investigations during the day. The cause of the crash remains under investigation as authorities seek to identify any contributing factors.
