Modesto, CA – A police chase that escalated dramatically ended in tragedy on November 25, 2024. Around 3:30 p.m., deputies attempted to stop a 40-year-old male suspect who was wanted for several severe crimes, including assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and witness tampering. However, instead of pulling over, the suspect fled, igniting a high-speed pursuit that would have dire consequences.
The chase unfolded along Crows Landing Road, where the suspect recklessly crossed double-yellow lines. This dangerous maneuver resulted in a head-on collision with another vehicle at 7th Street. In that vehicle were a man, a woman, and a young boy, all of whom suffered injuries. Thankfully, their injuries were not life-threatening, although the situation remains serious. Tragically, the suspect did not survive the crash.
