A multi-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 1 at Santa Lucia Canyon Road, located north of Lompoc, CA, on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
UPDATE (6:32 p.m.) – The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported that three individuals suffered serious injuries from the incident. Additionally, one person experienced moderate injuries while two others sustained minor injuries.
Initially reported at 5:49 p.m., the crash led to the closure of northbound Highway 1 at Santa Lucia Canyon Road. The accident took place just prior to 5 p.m. The California Highway Patrol indicated that as many as four vehicles were involved in the collision.
Fire officials from Santa Barbara County mentioned that multiple patients required extrication from their vehicles. At this time, it remains unclear when the highway will be reopened.
