Chula Vista, CA (October 08, 2025) – A 77-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning in the 600 block of L Street, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. when a gray 2014 Toyota Corolla, driven by a man also aged 77, was traveling eastbound and hit the pedestrian who was in lane number one of eastbound traffic.
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The Corolla driver was not injured and stayed at the scene to cooperate with investigators. Authorities do not believe intoxication was a factor in the crash.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
