Fairfield, CA (October 14, 2025) – A woman in her 20s died and a male passenger sustained major injuries in a solo vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 80 near Manuel Campos Parkway Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. under soggy weather conditions, which are believed to be a contributing factor. The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene, the male passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries, and both were the only occupants of the vehicle.
Four eastbound lanes were closed for several hours due to the collision and reopened by 4:37 a.m.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of this fatal crash.
Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased and the injured passenger during this difficult time.
