San Jose, CA (April 10, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on US-101 Northbound near the I-880 interchange caused injuries and heavy traffic delays Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The accident was first reported around 8:13 p.m.
CHP officials stated that the crash involved at least two vehicles. While the total number of injured parties remains under review, paramedics responded to the scene and provided medical assistance. The names and conditions of the injured individuals have not yet been released.
The collision forced authorities to block at least one northbound lane of US-101, creating extended delays for drivers navigating through the busy San Jose corridor. Tow trucks were called in to remove the damaged vehicles, and the impacted lane remained closed for some time while crews completed cleanup operations.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated. CHP is looking into multiple potential contributing factors, including merging behaviors, traffic density near the interchange, and possible driver inattention. The I-880 and US-101 interchange is a known high-risk zone due to its complex design and heavy commuter traffic.
We extend our best wishes to the injured individuals and hope for their full recovery.
