Santa Maria, CA (April 10, 2025) โ A major injury crash on southbound US-101 near the Stowell Road offramp left one person injured Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at approximately 8:03 a.m. and involved at least one vehicle blocking the #3 lane of the highway. A blue Toyota RAV4 was confirmed to be one of the vehicles involved. Emergency crews arrived on scene and requested a door extraction for one victim, indicating possible entrapment.
The injured individual sustained a wrist injury and was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. While initially reported as an unknown-injury crash (code 1183), CHP later upgraded the incident to a major injury collision (code 1180).
Two tow trucks responded to assist in clearing the wreckage, and traffic was backed up during the morning commute as officers worked to manage congestion and secure the area. The total number of vehicles involved remains unconfirmed, and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
