Sutter County, CA (April 21, 2025) – One person was killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision Sunday morning on Live Oak Boulevard, just south of Rednail Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 9:50 a.m. when a Chevrolet Aveo, driven by a 60-year-old woman from Linda, crossed into the southbound lane in an illegal attempt to pass traffic. The vehicle struck a southbound Toyota Prius head-on.
The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 51-year-old Zanika Bannerman, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The CHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
