Antioch, CA (April 22, 2025) – A fatal crash involving four vehicles was reported Tuesday night on eastbound Highway 4 near the Highway 160 interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. when a Lexus sedan, driven by 50-year-old Victor Vigil of Pittsburg, traveled the wrong way and collided head-on with a Mercedes. Two other vehicles, a Honda and a Dodge Durango, were also involved following the initial impact.
Vigil died at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. Two additional people sustained injuries and were transported for medical treatment. The driver of the Honda was reportedly not injured.
