Sacramento, CA (May 3, 2025) – A motorcyclist sustained injuries Saturday evening after colliding with a guard rail on Interstate 5 South near the US 50 interchange in Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:36 p.m. and involved only the motorcycle. Emergency crews responded promptly to the scene, where they located the damaged motorcycle and assisted the injured rider. The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital for further care. The extent of the injuries has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities reported that the motorcycle was not drivable following the impact. A tow truck was called to remove it from the roadway.
As a result of the crash, temporary lane closures were enacted to allow first responders to safely manage the scene. CHP officers are investigating the cause of the collision and whether speed, mechanical issues, or other factors contributed.
