Fresno County, CA (May 16, 2025) – A man and a woman were killed Friday night after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Westlawn Avenue and McKinley Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. when a 22-year-old Fresno man driving a Honda Civic northbound on Westlawn ran a stop sign at the intersection. A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 68-year-old woman and carrying a 70-year-old passenger, struck the right side of the Civic. The collision caused both vehicles to veer off the road, with the Chevy landing in a grapevine.
The 20-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Civic was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Both occupants of the Silverado sustained minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
CHP is actively investigating the cause of the crash.
