Sacramento, CA – Passenger Killed in I-5 Truck Crash

Sacramento, CA (June 8, 2025) – A passenger was killed when a Penske truck veered off southbound Interstate 5 and struck a tree just south of Florin Road, CHP reports.

The crash occurred at about 4:20 a.m. Sunday. First responders arrived to find the 29-year-old passenger ejected from the vehicle; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 36-year-old driver was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. CHP investigators are examining whether factors such as driver error, roadway conditions, or impairment contributed to the collision.
