Ben Lomond, CA - Two Drivers Seriously Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 9

Ben Lomond, CA (June 24, 2025) – A head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on Highway 9 left two drivers with serious injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. on June 24, along a curved section of Highway 9, just south of California Drive. Authorities report that a white 2008 Lexus, driven by a 66-year-old woman from Boulder Creek, was traveling northbound when it collided head-on with a black 2007 Lexus traveling southbound, driven by a 46-year-old man from Felton.

The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles and left both drivers seriously injured. Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported both individuals by ambulance to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. While the extent of their injuries has not been publicly released, CHP officials have classified them as major.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it is unclear if speed, road conditions, or another factor contributed to the vehicles crossing into opposing lanes.

We extend our deepest hopes for a full and speedy recovery to both individuals involved in this devastating crash.

Injured in a California Car Accident? You Deserve a Fair Fight

Traffic on Interstate 80, Highway 99, and surface roads throughout Sacramento, Stockton, and Roseville is frequently marred by daily crashes caused by speeding, distracted driving, and reckless behavior. These corridors rank among California’s most dangerous, according to DMV crash reports, and too often, innocent drivers pay the price.

Under California’s fault-based insurance system, you have the right to hold the at-fault driver accountable. This includes compensation for hospital bills, lost income, car damage, and pain and suffering resulting from injuries. But while the law is clear, insurance companies often aren’t. They downplay injuries, shift blame, or push quick settlements that don’t reflect your real losses.

An experienced car accident attorney can push back, preserve key evidence, and calculate the full value of your case. Time matters. California law gives most victims just two years to file a claim, and waiting for too long weakens your case.
