Los Angeles, CA (September 19, 2025) – A tragic accident in South Los Angeles has claimed the life of a 28-year-old man, who was struck by two vehicles while crossing outside a marked crosswalk, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m. last Friday along Figueroa Street, just north of 81st Street.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the victim was initially hit by a silver Toyota Corolla traveling southbound. The force of the collision threw the pedestrian into the air and back onto the roadway.
The driver of the Toyota immediately pulled over and attempted to render aid to the injured man. Tragically, before help could be provided, a second vehicle, a blue car, also traveling southbound on Figueroa Street, struck the pedestrian again. The driver of the blue vehicle fled the scene, continuing southbound, leaving behind devastation and unanswered questions.
Paramedics quickly responded and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, the victim later succumbed to his injuries.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident and seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of the second vehicle.
