Elk Grove, CA (August 29, 2025) – A 39-year-old man from Sacramento was killed early Friday morning after being struck by a car while on his bicycle on Calvine Road in Elk Grove, authorities reported.
The Elk Grove Police Department said the crash occurred around 2:33 a.m. between Bader Road and Bradshaw Road. The bicyclist was reportedly sitting on his bike in the roadway when an eastbound car struck him. The driver immediately stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Emergency personnel responded quickly, but the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release his identity once confirmed.
Police stated that the driver showed no signs of impairment, and speed does not appear to have contributed to the collision. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
