Julian, CA (October 12, 2025) – A 49-year-old man riding a Yamaha R6 motorcycle was killed in a head-on collision on northbound State Route 79 Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m., just north of KQ Ranch Road. CHP reports that for unknown reasons, the motorcyclist crossed over the solid double-yellow lines and collided with a southbound 2025 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a travel trailer. The impact ejected the motorcyclist from his motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 37-year-old man, was unharmed. CHP does not suspect impairment as a factor, and the investigation remains ongoing.
