Chalfant, CA (September 21, 2025) – A fatal traffic collision occurred early this morning on US-6 near Hunter Avenue, resulting in the death of one individual, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The crash was reported shortly after 12:23 a.m. and involved two vehicles, including a single-vehicle rollover.
Both the southbound and northbound lanes of US-6 were blocked following the collision.
Emergency responders, including fire personnel, were dispatched to the scene. The Mono County Coroner was notified and responded to the incident. Traffic was rerouted around the crash site while crews worked to clear the roadway.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the collision. No further information regarding the identities of those involved has been released.
