Davis, CA – Injuries Reported in Eight-Vehicle Pileup on I-80 near Mace Blvd

Davis, CA (July 17, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving eight vehicles led to injuries and traffic disruption on Thursday evening on eastbound Interstate 80 near Mace Blvd, according to the California Highway Patrol

The collision occurred around 6:05 p.m. and resulted in significant traffic delays. CHP officers and firefighters arrived at the scene to assist with the crash, which occurred across multiple lanes. The Nos. 1 and 2 lanes were closed to allow emergency crews to work safely.

Among the vehicles involved was a Dodge Ram, which sustained enough damage to require towing. At least two other vehicles were also towed from the area, indicating the severity of the crash. Fire personnel from the City of Davis Fire Department assessed and treated individuals who suffered minor injuries. The exact number of individuals treated has not been released.

Responders remained on site for an extended period to clear debris and ensure the safety of passing motorists. CHP continues to investigate the chain-reaction events that caused the crash.
