Los Angeles, CA (September 27, 2025) – A fatal traffic collision occurred late Saturday evening on southbound Interstate 5 near W. Verdugo Avenue in Los Angeles, involving multiple vehicles.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash was reported around 7:10 p.m., and responders found four vehicles involved. Emergency crews, including the Burbank Fire Department, arrived on scene to assist.
CHP confirmed that the crash resulted in at least one fatality.
Due to the severity of the collision, the southbound lanes of I-5 at Verdugo Avenue were closed, with HOV lanes 1 and 2 also blocked for traffic control while emergency personnel worked the scene. Royal Coaches Towing and other tow services were dispatched to remove the vehicles.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the multi-vehicle fatal crash.
