Clarksburg, CA (October 27, 2025) – One person suffered life-threatening injuries after a serious crash on Monday evening on South River Road, just south of Clarksburg, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision occurred around 7:38 p.m. near the 33200 block of South River Road. Reports indicate that a vehicle veered off the roadway and went down an embankment along the levee. Fire crews and CHP officers responded to find the vehicle several feet off the road with one person trapped and severely injured.
Emergency responders extricated the victim, who sustained major burns and critical injuries, before airlifting them to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment. CHP officers confirmed that the injuries were life-threatening. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and officials have not yet confirmed whether impairment or speed played a role.
