El Dorado County, CA (June 9, 2025) – Multiple people were injured when two vehicles collided head-on on U.S. Highway 50 near Strawberry, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The crash occurred around 8:50 a.m. Monday on the winding Sierra foothills stretch between mile markers 17212 and 17521. Both cars sustained heavy front-end damage.
El Dorado County Fire and local paramedics treated several victims at the scene; at least one person with serious injuries was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.
CHP investigators continue to examine whether one of the vehicles crossed the centerline or if other factors, such as road conditions, played a role.
