Elk Grove, California (August 18, 2026) – A 33-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with an SUV at the intersection of Lewis Stein Road and West Stockton Boulevard, the Elk Grove Police Department said.
Officers responded to the crash around 6:14 p.m. on the evening of August 18. According to police, a Honda CR-V was traveling northbound on Lewis Stein Road in the dedicated left-turn lane for westbound Dracut Road.
The motorcyclist was traveling southbound in the dedicated right-turn lane for the same westbound road. Both vehicles turned at the same time. Police say the motorcyclist continued straight instead of turning and collided with the SUV.
The motorcycle became lodged beneath the SUV’s right front tire, police said. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Elk Grove police have not yet released his identity.
Police closed West Stockton Boulevard between Atkins Court and Michener Way for several hours while traffic investigators worked the scene.
