Elk Grove, CA - Pedestrian Killed by Car on I-5 Near Elk Grove Blvd

Elk Grove, CA (May 13, 2025) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car on southbound Interstate 5 just north of Elk Grove Boulevard around 1:13 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reports.

CHP says a man was standing in the lane for unknown reasons when he was hit; the driver was unable to swerve or stop in time. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained on site and notified authorities. No other injuries were reported, and drugs or alcohol are not suspected.

The CHP’s Traffic Division is investigating; anyone with information should contact the Elk Grove office.
