Santa Ana, CA (Sept 04, 2025) – A fatal traffic collision occurred on SR-55 South near Santa Clara Ave at approximately 9:15 p.m. yesterday. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a dark-colored sedan collided with a guardrail on the right side of the road. The vehicle was also found against a wall.
CHP and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. Due to the severity of the collision, the area was closed off for investigation and repairs to the guardrail, leading to significant traffic delays.
Tow services were requested, and the area was cleared later in the evening. The incident is under investigation, and the cause of the collision remains unknown at this time.
