Tustin, CA (August 08, 2025) – One person died Friday night in a motorcycle crash on the transition road from the southbound 5 Freeway to the southbound Highway 55, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision occurred around 11:33 p.m. in the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane. Emergency personnel responding to the scene found a downed Civic motorcycle. The rider died at the scene or shortly after, as reported by CHP.
Following the crash, all lanes of the transition road were temporarily closed while authorities investigated and cleared the scene. The CHP is currently investigating the cause of the collision.
