San Diego, CA (August 08, 2025) – A pedestrian tragically died Friday night after being struck by a vehicle on the southbound 805 Freeway near Highway 94, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The accident happened around 10:35 p.m. Reports indicate the pedestrian was running across multiple traffic lanes when hit by a silver Toyota Yaris. Despite the quick response of emergency personnel, the victim did not survive the collision.
Several lanes on the freeway were temporarily closed to allow for investigation and cleanup. All lanes were reopened by 1:41 a.m. Saturday.
The CHP is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.
