Woodland, CA - Fatal Pedestrian Accident on SR-16 Yesterday Night

Woodland, CA (September 08, 2025) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred on State Route 16 near the 37801-37950 block in Woodland on Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident was reported at approximately 7:55 p.m. when a vehicle struck a pedestrian. Initial reports indicate that a black Nissan Maxima was involved in the collision, which resulted in significant damage to both the vehicle and the pedestrian. Emergency services, including Yolo County Fire and Woodland PD, responded to the scene. CPR was in progress for the victim.

At 10:32 p.m., CHP confirmed that all lanes on SR-16 had reopened after the investigation and cleanup were completed. The incident remains under investigation, and the identity of the victim has not been released.
