Fresno, CA – Woman Injured in Crash Involving Ambulance at Shields Ave & Blackstone Ave

Fresno, CA (July 14, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash involving an ambulance sent one woman to the hospital Monday evening at the intersection of Shields Avenue and Blackstone Avenue in Fresno, according to local authorities.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., police reported that an American Ambulance unit was traveling west on Shields Avenue when it collided with a car occupied by two women making a turn onto Shields from Blackstone. One woman in the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. Emergency personnel in the ambulance were not injured.

It is unclear whether the ambulance was using lights and sirens at the time of the collision. The intersection was temporarily impacted while authorities investigated the scene. The Fresno Police Department is continuing to look into the cause of the crash.
