Grenada, CA (May 28, 2025) – A major injury crash occurred on northbound I-5 over Siskiyou Boulevard, northwest of Mount Shasta, on May 28 at approximately 12:13 p.m. The collision involved a tow truck and a passenger vehicle, causing significant damage and debris scattered across the lane and center divide.
Upon arrival, emergency responders from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) discovered a male occupant still inside one of the vehicles, possibly trapped due to the severity of the crash. The vehicle was described as heavily crushed. Lane one and part of lane two were temporarily closed to allow for an assessment of the damage and to ensure public safety while emergency crews worked at the scene.
A tow truck was called in to remove at least one of the vehicles involved in the crash. The CHP traffic accident unit is actively investigating the cause of the collision. Authorities are currently gathering further details as they continue their investigation.
