Lassen County, CA – A head-on collision involving a Ford F-350 truck towing a horse trailer and a Toyota RAV4 took place Monday morning on Highway 395 at North Red Rock Road, near the California-Nevada border. The crash was reported at approximately 9:37 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to provide medical aid to at least one injured person. Due to the severity of the front-end damage sustained by the Toyota RAV4, a tow truck was called to clear the vehicle from the northbound lanes.
A third vehicle, a silver Honda, was observed stopped nearby, but authorities have indicated that it did not appear to be directly involved in the collision.
CHP officers are currently investigating the crash to determine the sequence of events and who may have been at fault. Early details suggest one of the vehicles might have been entering the highway from Red Rock Road, though further analysis is ongoing.
