Santa Cruz County, CA - Hit-and-Run Collision on SR-9 Near Pike Rd Leaves One Injured

Santa Cruz County, CA (October 01, 2025) – A hit-and-run crash on State Route 9 near Pike Road left one person injured on Wednesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The collision, reported around 11:03 p.m., involved two vehicles in a head-on crash. Emergency responders found one individual trapped in a vehicle, suffering moderate injuries including a possible left leg fracture, and transported the patient to Valley Medical Center.

The CHP reported that the other vehicle fled the scene, and tow services from AutoCare were dispatched to remove one of the vehicles as evidence. The roadway was temporarily closed during emergency response.

Authorities continue to investigate the hit-and-run collision and are seeking information on the suspect vehicle.
