Indio, CA (August 4, 2025) – Three people were injured in a crash on eastbound Interstate 10 near Jackson Street in Indio on Monday night. The incident, reported just before 9:15 p.m., involved a CAL FIRE ambulance and another vehicle.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred as the CAL FIRE ambulance, which was transporting a patient from an earlier crash, was merging from the center median into the traffic lanes. The ambulance was struck by a car, causing significant damage.
The driver of the car sustained major injuries, while two CAL FIRE employees in the ambulance were injured, though their injuries were minor. The patient inside the ambulance, who had been involved in the earlier accident, also sustained minor injuries.
