Oakland, CA (August 31, 2025) – Joseph White II, a 51-year-old man from Oakland, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday night after running a red light at the intersection of Hegenberger Road and Hamilton Street, according to the Oakland Police Department (OPD).
The collision occurred at approximately 10:49 p.m. when White, riding southbound on Hegenberger Road, failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of Hamilton Street. He collided with the passenger side of a Volkswagen Jetta that was traveling west on Hamilton Street with a green light.
White was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger in the Jetta sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Oakland Police Department.
