Keyes, CA (June 9, 2025) – One man was killed when a 2022 Freightliner struck him on northbound Highway 99 just north of East Keyes Road, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The victim had exited his Acura coupe and entered the slow lane at approximately 9:31 a.m. Monday, when the oncoming big rig collided with him. Emergency crews transported the man with major injuries to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
CHP investigators are probing the circumstances, including whether the man intentionally entered traffic or if it was accidental.
