Laytonville, CA – One Killed, One Injuried in Fatal Collision on Highway 101

Laytonville, CA (July 22, 2025) – A fatal collision on Highway 101 northwest of Ukiah claimed one life and left another person with minor injuries on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. when two vehicles collided head-on. One vehicle went off the road, over an embankment, and sustained major damage. The other vehicle remained on the road, sustaining moderate damage. Emergency responders performed an extrication from the severely damaged vehicle.

Sadly, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while another sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. CHP is investigating the cause of the collision, though no further details have been released.
