Livermore, CA (July 14, 2025) – A deadly crash occurred on eastbound Highway 84 near I-680 in Livermore on Tuesday evening, leaving one person dead and two others critically injured.
The collision occurred around 6:19 p.m. and involved a blue Honda Civic and a gray Lexus. Officials believe one of the vehicles may have been street racing with a white pickup truck prior to the crash. Emergency responders from the Livermore Police Department and the Alameda County Fire Department arrived quickly and worked urgently to assist the victims.
Two people sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to nearby trauma centers – one to Washington Hospital in Fremont and the other to Regional Medical Center in San Jose. The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending family notification.
As a result of the crash, Highway 84 was closed in both directions for several hours while authorities investigated the cause of the crash. Reckless driving or speeding may have contributed to the incident, though investigations are still ongoing.
