Los Angeles, CA (April 9, 2025) – A tragic overnight collision claimed the lives of two women and injured four others in the Westmont neighborhood of South Los Angeles, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The deadly crash occurred around 12:10 a.m. near the intersection of Normandie Avenue and Century Boulevard. Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department rushed to the scene, where they found a devastating wreck involving two vehicles. Two women were pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Four additional individuals sustained moderate to major injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. Authorities have not yet released the names of the deceased, pending notification of their families.
Preliminary reports indicate that a Honda CR-V was traveling eastbound on Century Boulevard when it collided with a northbound Buick at the intersection. The impact left both vehicles heavily damaged and debris scattered across the roadway.
Photographs from the scene showed shattered glass, car parts, and first responders working to assist the injured. The intersection was closed for several hours overnight as CHP officers and crash investigators examined the area and gathered evidence.
Officials are actively investigating the circumstances of the crash, including whether one of the drivers ran a red light. No arrests or citations have been announced at this time.
