Los Banos, CA (July 20, 2025) – Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that resulted in injuries early Sunday morning along State Route 152 near Turner Island Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision occurred around 3:00 a.m. when the suspect vehicle, reportedly without headlights activated, narrowly avoided a head-on collision with the victim’s vehicle. To avoid the crash, the victim swerved and lost control, driving into a nearby field. The impacted vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage, and emergency crews from Riggs Ambulance and fire personnel responded promptly to assist.
The driver who remained at the scene sustained injuries, but the full extent has not been disclosed. The fleeing driver was not located, and CHP is treating the incident as a felony hit-and-run.
Tow services were requested to remove the vehicle from the field, and the site was cleared in the early morning hours.
