Sacramento, CA (September 24, 2025) – A fatal traffic collision occurred on Wednesday morning on eastbound Highway 50 in South Sacramento, involving a silver Chevrolet Corvette, a diesel truck, and an Acura. The crash was reported at approximately 9:30 a.m., just west of Howe Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Corvette ended up underneath the diesel truck after a series of maneuvers involving an unsafe lane change by the Acura. CHP reports indicate that the Corvette driver initially moved to the left and stopped in the number one lane, leaving the truck driver insufficient time to avoid a collision.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, and traffic was impacted as crews investigated. The driver of the Corvette was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:50 a.m..
CHP obtained statements from the drivers on scene and continues to investigate the cause of the multi-vehicle crash.
