Palm Springs, CA (September 16, 2025) – A 29-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident Tuesday night in Palm Springs, according to local authorities.
The crash occurred around 8:50 p.m. on September 16, just west of North Avenida Caballeros on East San Rafael Drive. Raymond Olguin Jr., of Palm Desert, was walking on the roadway when he was struck by an SUV.
Olguin Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The Palm Springs Police Department confirmed that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the accident.
The collision caused the closure of East San Rafael Drive from Eucalyptus Drive to North Avenida Caballeros for several hours. The road has since reopened.
The incident remains under investigation by the Palm Springs Police Department.
