Marysville, CA (July 11, 2025) – A head-on car collision on Highway 70 near Boyer Road, north of Marysville, left two people dead and four others injured, including two children on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. when a southbound Toyota Camry driven by an 18-year-old man from Brentwood crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with a Honda CR-V. A 41-year-old man from Roseville died at the scene, while a 34-year-old woman from the CR-V later died at the hospital.
Two children, ages 4 and 8, who were passengers in the CR-V, suffered major injuries and were transported to local hospitals. The Camry’s driver and his 18-year-old female passenger also sustained major injuries.
Emergency crews responded quickly, closing parts of Highway 70 for over two hours to assist victims and investigate the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it is unclear if speed or impairment were factors.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wish a full recovery to the injured.
Car Accidents in California
Car crashes occur daily across California on major corridors, including Highway 99, Interstate 5, and busy urban roads such as Florin Road and Laurel Canyon Boulevard. These areas experience frequent collisions due to speeding, sudden lane changes, and driver distraction. Common accident types include rear-end impacts, intersection crashes, and left-turn collisions. These often lead to injuries such as fractures, head trauma, or back strain, many requiring hospitalization and time away from work. Accidents near schools, business districts, and freeway on-ramps can also affect pedestrians or cyclists, making emergency response more complex. Fatal car crashes in California, such as this devastating Highway 70 collision near Marysville, often leave families with overwhelming legal and financial burdens. Speaking with an experienced Sacramento car accident attorney can help those affected understand their rights and pursue the compensation they deserve.
