Modesto, CA (June 22, 2025) – A woman was killed early Sunday morning when she was struck by a suspected drunk driver while crossing Yosemite Boulevard at Severin Avenue, Modesto Police report.
The collision occurred just after 4:00 a.m. Sunday. Officers found the unresponsive victim in the roadway, administered CPR, and had her transported to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Modesto Police identified and arrested 27-year-old Eloy Diaz of Modesto at the scene. He faces felony hit-and-run and DUI charges as investigators continue examining the circumstances of the crash.
