Rohnert Park, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Ford Fusion on Southbound Highway 101 Near Golf Course Drive

Rohnert Park, CA (October 09, 2025) – A motorcyclist died Thursday morning in a crash on southbound Highway 101 near Golf Course Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision happened just before 10:15 a.m. and involved a 1974 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a maroon Ford Fusion.

CHP officials reported the Ford was traveling in the left lane when it switched to the middle lane, encountering a large bag of debris on the road. The vehicle swerved to avoid the debris but lost control, veering left toward the center median before sharply turning right.

At that moment, the motorcycle struck the right front side of the Ford, ejecting the rider. Emergency crews found the motorcyclist lying on the road and began CPR, but the rider died shortly after at a hospital.

The Ford driver was not injured. The CHP noted that wet road conditions from light rain might have contributed to the crash.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased motorcyclist.
