Citrus Heights, CA (September 09, 2025) – A 28-year-old motorcyclist died Monday night after crashing into another vehicle while fleeing from Citrus Heights police, authorities confirmed Tuesday.
The pursuit began near Antelope Road and Wonder Street when an officer attempted to stop the rider for suspected vehicle code violations. According to police, the motorcyclist ran multiple stop signs and red lights and turned off his headlights as the chase progressed. The Sacramento Police Department helicopter was called in to assist.
The motorcycle collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Antelope Road and Mariposa Avenue, ejecting the rider. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was unharmed.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the rider’s identity once next of kin are notified. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to examine the crash.
The fatal collision temporarily closed the intersection for several hours as investigators processed the scene. Citrus Heights police are asking anyone with information to contact the department at 916-727-5500.
