National City, CA (October 13, 2025) – A motorcyclist was killed Monday evening in a solo crash on the southbound side of Interstate 805, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The fatal accident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. near East Fourth Street in National City. Investigators report that the rider veered off the road, went up an embankment, and crashed into a palm tree. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP has not released the rider’s identity pending family notification.
A toxicology report will be conducted by the county Medical Examiner’s Office to determine if impairment was a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
